Alright, so here it goes. I realize that my application is shorter than others I've seen. I will gladly lengthen it if anyone wants me to. I took some notes about Don while I was brainstorming for my app. I thought I would share a few of those in addition to my writing sample:
And on to the writing!
Donatello rubbed his dry, tired eyes for what seemed like the hundredth time. It was shaping up to be his third all-nighter in a row when two was his limit. The computer’s soft hum lulled him into a light doze. His head began to nod when he suddenly shot out of the chair, sending it flying. He stood there for a moment before opening his eyes. Then with an aggravated groan he retrieved the chair.
“I had to get the most insomnia-reducing desk chair why?” What he wouldn’t give for his old chair with the scratchy fabric and busted wheel. He perched on the edge of his seat and tried to find where he had left off. He read the same sentence three times before forcing himself to actually process it.
Just as he regained a productive state of mind the Lair door slid open and shut. The silence that should have followed was nonexistent, at least from a ninja’s perspective. Donatello’s attention divided itself between his research and the person making his way to the kitchen. Whoever it was, his attempts to stay quiet were failing miserably. Don sighed as he pushed his chair back. He felt it his duty to check on whoever was coming in at four in the morning.
Plus, he thought with a smirk, he wouldn’t mind gaining a little ammunition on whoever just failed Ninja Skills 101. The perks of being your brother’s keeper.
- Fiercely loyal/devoted.
- Somewhat introverted, (but not antisocial). Simply keeps a lot of things to himself. Doesn’t wear his heart on his sleeve.
- Witty and sarcastic.
- Experiments/projects—the one thing that is completely his own thing (even though what he makes is often for his family).
- Active helper—doesn’t wait for problems to be brought to him. Always thinking of ways to make it better.
